Topic: Need Advise Please -- Have new product for TR

Message: Getting a new product into any major retailer isn't easy, regardless of whether its travel retail or not. Basically they will rarely take any kind of volume (assuming they even let you in the door) unless it has some track record or proof of interest. Often the best way to go is to try & get it into smaller places first to achieve these. Perhaps consider some of the smaller on-airport retailers who sell travel accessories in their gift or luggage range. Maybe look at some of the online travel accessory sites - they could be easier to get in on a trial. As something a little more out of left field, what about one of the airlines with a rep for superior customer experience who could perhaps use it as a customer loyalty recognition gift? Or indeed some airlines have a small amount of retail in their premium lounges. Also perhaps at such a low price point it could even be viable as an incentive/give away by companies who could perhaps put their logo on it? Think about brand alignment with the idea of comfort & a good night's rest and see who springs to mind - perhaps a hotel? In many cases its a matter of getting it out there so when you go to one of the major retailers you've got something to demonstrate people like it and would buy it. That reduces the risk for them.

Message: Hi, My name is Ann James. I am marketing a new product for TR. It is an airline pillow cover. Basically a pillow case for your airline pillow. I am a working mom and came up with this idea while on business travel. I have since been laid off from my company and decided to go for it with my idea. I designed and had my product manufactured. I am ready to wholesale it to the TR folks, but don't really know where to start. I have lots of questions about this industry and need expert advice on how to start/succeed. Here are a few of my questions: How do I get my product in front of the decisionmakers in the industry?Do I go after big groups like Hudson News or independent? What is the key to a decision to resell? Size, cost?Is mailing a product sample with a sell sheet the way to go?If so, is there a place to find a listing of buyers? Here is a brief description of the product. Airline Pillow Cover, 100% cotton, fits any airline pillow. Clean and easy to usePackaging: 5" x 7" zip lock bag with hole at top for hanging (small)Target Price: $9.95 retail Wholesale $4.95POS Display: Carosel Rack available and counter top box displayCustom fabric and logos also available.
Topic: Shopping on Arrival

Message: Sorry it took so long to get back to you. It means everyone...primarily Consumers, it means Brand Owners and it means of course Operators. We intend to bring the three facets together, in fact four...we will also bring Travel Agents into the frame too. Every Duty Free purchaser needs to buy a ticket first! As we update and improve the data on our website you will be able to search locations, outlets and Brands, so Consumers will find what is listed and where. Canada may happen soon for arrivals duty free, but in fact there are many Countries, more than Consumers think, where it is already possible.
